Extra-virgin olive oil Casa Morandi
The olive trees – mainly the cultivar Moraiolo and a small percentage of other Tuscan varieties – are cultivated at a height of approximately 350m, on the hillside of Monte Arsenti in the Massa Marittima area. No chemical pesticides are used.
Quality comes before quantity, and thus every year we begin the harvest as soon as possible in October. The olives are picked by hand only.
The oil is produced within a couple of hours. This is done with all possible care, to a high technical standard and by mechanical means only. The oil extraction takes place in a prize-winning oil-mill in the locality. The oil is bottled on the estate.
The oil has a largely golden colour with hints of green. It has a typical intense, fruity scent, and presents piquancy and subtle bitterness, a characteristic of Tuscan olive oils. This combination creates a well-balanced and pleasing product of highest quality.
